PAINT AND PONDER

STARTING MONDAY JANUARY 11th 2021

I am excited to begin to share with those of you who are interested in connecting and creating.

The general format of this continuing workshop will be as follows:

Opening talk by me on the current week where I will explain the way that the group will work with some guidelines and space for each of us to spend a couple of minutes introducing ourselves ( if you choose, no pressure! )

Then I will talk about the theme for that week and share some ideas on how to start and discover what it is that inspires us. How to approach our work and make that first mark!

I work intuitively but also with a mindfulness and an awareness of what feeling are running at the time which may inform the painting! ( fun and play! ).

It’s a group for any type, level of experience or style. Mostly we will work in acrylics but may well branch out into other materials as the weeks progress. there will be some demos and information regarding technique, colour, form and design and also a lot of sharing and chat as other artists are an absolute font of knowledge. The group is centred on connection and support and so I would like it to be small enough so that everyones voice can be heard if they choose and all get a chance to share and chat.

MATERIALS

4 small ready primed canvases 14 x 11 ins, 4 - 6 brushes for acrylic painting various sizes,

Golden fluid acrylics paint size 4 fluid oz. Colours, titanium white, carbon black, yellow ochre, red oxide, cadmium red medium, cadmium yellow medium, cobalt blue, teal, burnt umber.

water container, kitchen towels, black coloured pencil, coloured pencils, oil pastels.

pad of water colour paper, 7 x 10 ins, pad of palette paper
